Please note the itinerary is liable to change due to security issues in Mali. We currently cannot access Djenne, and the whole of the Dogon region is unsafe to visit.
• Arrive in Bamako, where you will be met at the airport by our driver, who will transfer you to the hotel.
• After breakfast, drive to San.
• Upon arrival, check into our hotel before visiting the eye-catching adobe mosque and the local market.
• Overnight in San.
• We will travel to Mopti, known as "the melting pot of Mali".
• Visit the Komoguel mosque, walk around the fishing port where wooden boats are made by hand, and visit the bustling
market.
• In the afternoon, we'll take a boat trip and visit a Fulani village on the banks of the Niger river.
•Overnight in Mopti.
• Drive to Segou and visit a mud painting clothes workshop and various colonial buildings before moving on to Segou Koro, a village and former residence of Bambara kings located on the banks of the Niger River.
• Take a boat trip across the river to Kalabougou, where we will see women making pottery. After production, the pottery gets transported by dugout canoe to the Segou market.
• Return to Segou.
• Return to Bamako and tour the city. We will see colonial buildings and visit the national museum, the craft market and Point-G—the perfect spot to get a panoramic view of the city.
• More tours of Bamako. We will visit the cathedral, fetish and artisan markets, and the puppet workshop.
• Afterwards, board a traditional boat from Babalabougou and visit a sand fishing village.
• Camp overnight on an island in the Niger River.
• Return to Bamako in the morning, taking breakfast on the boat.
• Afterwards, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
